Dr. Mark S. Bianchi, MD graduated from Yale Medical School in 1991 and subsequently completed residency in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery also at Yale. He has been in private practice in Trumbull and West Haven, Connecticut, and, more recently, has opened an office in Stratford. He is the Chief of the Section of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at Bridgeport Hospital where he has been an attending physician since 1996. He is also an attending physician at the Veteran's Hospital in West Haven and is a part-time faculty member at the Yale Section of Otolaryngology.
Dr. Bianchi grew up in upstate New York and Hamden, Connecticut. He graduated from Hamden High School and subsequently attended college at New York University where he received his BA in biology in 1986. After a year of research at Rockefeller University in molecular biology, he went on to Yale Medical School.
Dr. Bianchi has special interests in pediatric ENT and head and neck cancer surgery. He is also particularly interested in otology and sinus surgery.
He lives in Branford near the water where his three children have recently graduated from high school. He enjoys sailing and has a special interest in Eastern philosophy.
Dr. Bianchi will be seeing patients in his Stratford, Trumbull and West Haven offices.
Dr. Michael N. Waltzman MD, PhD joined Dr. Mark Bianchi’s practice in the summer of 2008. Dr. Waltzman is Board Certified in Ear Nose and Throat surgery. Dr. Waltzman’s surgical practice focuses on Sinus Surgery, Head and Neck cancer surgery, Thyroid surgery, and General Otolaryngology. His clinical interests include sinonasal disorders, hearing and balance problems and swallowing complaints.
Dr. Waltzman is a local product who has graduated from Weston High School in 1983 and Weslyan University in 1987. Dr. Waltzman was awarded a Master of Science degree and Doctor of Philosophy degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine’s Sue Golding Graduate division for his study of intracellular communication. Dr. Waltzman attended medical school at Chicago Medical School and did his General Surgical Internship and Residency in Otolaryngology at New York University Medical Center. Dr. Waltzman currently has been in private practice for the past four years in the Bridgeport area. Dr. Waltzman enjoys Basketball, running and Golf as well as playing guitar and bass. He lives with his wife, three children and Golden Retriever.
Dr. Waltzman will be seeing patients daily in Trumbull and Stratford. He is an attending physician at both St. Vincent’s Medical Center and Bridgeport Hospital.
Noel Hewitt, CCC-A has been with Sound Hearing & Balance, the Audiology division of Sound ENT since 2002. Her scope of practice includes performing diagnostic testing including audiological assessment, hearing aid evaluations and dispensing of digital hearing aids. She incorporates her expertise of hearing loss in children within the school environment by implementing FM systems and education to achieve maximum hearing ability.
Noel obtained her Bachelor of Arts from the College of the Holy Cross in 1992 and her Master’s of Science from the University of Rhode Island in 1997. While at URI, clinical internships brought her to Rhode Island Hospital, Mill Neck Manor School for the Deaf, and Westerly ENT. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. In December 2009, Noel will complete her doctorate in Audiology. Her past employment includes a private audiology practice in Fairfield County. She has been a licensed audiologist in Connecticut since 1997.
Noel lives in Stratford with her husband and two children. She enjoys tennis and baseball and beach activities with her family.
Noel will be seeing patients in the Trumbull and Stratford offices.
Stephanie Michaelides, Au.D., FAAA/ CCC-A, joined the Sound Hearing & Balance practice in the Summer of 2008. Dr. Michaelides received here doctorate in Audiology from the Pennsylvania School of Optometry in 2008. She completed her masters degree in Audiology from Western Michigan University in 2002. As a clinical audiologist with over six years of experience managing audiology practices for otolaryngologists, she has extensive experience performing diagnostic testing including audiological assessment, hearing aid evaluations and dispensing of digital hearing aids, specializing in geriatrics. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Dr. Michaelides will be seeing patients in the Stratford and Trumbull offices.
Donna Leonardo, MS, CCC-A, joined the Sound Hearing & Balance practice in December of 2008. Donna received her Master's Degree from Penn State University in 1993. She completed her Bachelor of Science from East Stroudsburg University in 1990. And as a clinical audiologist for over 14 years in a busy ENT office, she has extensive experience performing diagnostic testing including hearing aid evaluations and dispensing of digital hearing aids. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association as well.
Donna will be seeing patients in the Trumbull and Stratford offices.
